We have a range of classes on offer at our studio, we have a provided a brief description below, please contact us for more information. All equipment is provided at no charge.
General, Hatha Yoga – All of our general classes are Hatha Yoga based with each teacher having heir own unique style or lineage. These classes are designed for all levels from beginner to more advanced. All classes include gentle warm up stretches, yoga postures with breath awareness, relaxation and meditation. The asanas (postures) are presented in stages so students can progress at their own pace. Students are shown how to modify and adapt postures to suit their particular needs, along with how to use props as extra support.
Restorative – Restorative Yoga is an opportunity for us to rest, restore and renew our tired aching bodies. The slower pace and deep breathing that you get in a restorative Yoga class triggers the parasympathetic nervous system from the very first pose. This activation helps to mitigate the effects of the regular fight- or- flight stress response that can be damaging to your physiology and well being. The overall calming effect on the nervous system sets a deeply relaxing tone for the class that comforts your mind and body down to the cellular level. Restorative Yoga classes are designed for those who may feel exhausted at the end of a busy working week, for people recovering from illness or anyone desiring a quiet gentle class. These classes will incorporate floor based supported postures, Pranayama (breathing practices) and deep relaxation.
Balance – Balance is Yoga based and also takes elements of Tai Chi, Pilates and Dance and blends them together in a beautiful flow style class, choreographed to music. This class is fun and dynamic, connects body and breath, creating balance, strength and flexibility while calming the body and mind.
Vinyasa – vinyasa classes use all the traditional general hatha asana (poses) in a fluid flow style class, each pose leading to the next.
Dance Fitness – dance fitness classes fuse together dance, barre and pilates into one fun class, not requiring any previous dance experience and turning the energetic elements of moving your body into a form of fitness, all tied together with a fun, uplifting and enthusiastic playlist!
Meditation – These are guided mediation classes, awakening the senses in a safe and supportive environment. Meditation classes allow you to completely let go of your worries and fears, quieting down and focusing the mind to bring forth greater happiness, wellness and wholesomeness in your life – in body, mind and spirit.
Introduction Workshop – This extended class has been designed to offer a little try of what to expect in a yoga class, how a yoga class generally flows and to explore some of the basics of some yoga poses. Also to get you in the studio for the first time – this is sometimes the biggest step. The class is gentle and slow, allowing you plenty of time to explore some postural alignment, and how you feel in the poses. All equipment and props are available with instructions on what they are, how, when and why we use them.
Prenatal Yoga – These classes are for the expectant mother. This class uses gentle yoga poses to help keep you strong, aligned, healthy and calm during your pregnancy, birth and beyond. Connect with your beautiful self, your body, your breath, your baby and other expectant mothers in the community. This class is for pregnant women from 13 weeks gestation, with clearance from your care provider. No previous yoga experience is needed.
Postnatal & Mums & Bubs – These classes are for the new mother, designed to help strengthen and repair the body following childbirth, which ever way that flowed. Classes also help provide calming techniques and connection to baby and with other new mothers during this busy and ever-changing stage of life.
Kids Yoga – Kids Yoga has so many amazing benefits for our children; it helps kids develop strength, balance and co-ordination, supporting them to feel a sense of connection. It helps children with social skills, friendships and empathy, helps self growth with confidence and resilience. Children will learn breathing and calming techniques, experience inner stillness, and so much more!! Classes are fun and interactive, teaching our future yogis many valuable tools for life.
Sister Circle – A Sister Circle is a sacred gathering of women connecting, sharing and celebrating life. It is a space to experience and embrace the nurturing energy of the feminine that resides within each and every one of us.
